"We both traveled a lot before meeting and managed to travel a few times whenever possible while we were dating–but we knew our passports would fill up as soon as the world reopened. With an antique style global as our “guest book,” we asked our guests to pin somewhere in the world for us to travel to. On this theme, we used luggage tags as seating cards and a simple acrylic cake topper of the world. Our food choices were local, sustainable, and delicious. We consciously wanted every aspect of our wedding to be a snapshot of who we are and what we enjoy about our lives together."

"Take a deep breath! It is a lot of work, even with the help of a planner. Know what you and your future spouse have strong opinions on–for Joel it was food and entertainment, for Robin it was styling and location. We trusted each other as the experts on those things, which made decision-making a lot faster. The biggest concession for Robin was SO much of the color orange, but she grew to love it as it worked so well with the overall color scheme. And don’t sweat the small stuff! It was rainy and humid on our wedding day, which wasn’t ideal but what could we do? We planned ahead and had a tent, and didn’t stress when people asked us if we were upset that it was going to rain. It’s so easy to look for any little thing to get upset over, but we knew our vendors had it under control, and the day would be incredible. The rain stopped long enough for our ceremony and a few sunset pictures–the latter of which made for some memorable moments together. Your wedding will be unique and special to you, and that’s all that matters in the end."
