Step 1: Weddings are permitted on Dewey Beach for a $100 fee, with approval from the town manager. Complete the application form, available online at https://www.townofdeweybeach.com/BeachWeddingRequestForm

Step 2: Obtain Sussex County marriage license https://sussexcountyde.gov/applying-marriage-license*

*Note: The marriage license is valid for 30 days, based on time of application. It must be used in that time period. It is only valid in the State of Delaware. The waiting period is 24 hours (based on time of application) for all applicants.

Rules:

1. During the summer season, weddings must begin after 5:30 p.m. Set-up can begin after the lifeguards leave the beach at 5 p.m.
2. Vehicles are not permitted on the beach during the summer season.
3. Chairs and canopies are permitted. Everything must be removed from the beach within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the ceremony.

Parking:

Parking permits (available via ParkMobil App) are in effect May 15-Sept. 15, as follows:

• Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. (the following day). One-day permits cost $15.
• Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. (the following day). One-day permits cost $20.
• Weekends, 10 a.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Monday cost $45.
• Weekly (8 consecutive days) $75.

Vehicles parked on the right-of-way during the hours parking permits are in effect, as noted above, must display a permit. As a general rule, telephone poles mark the line between the right-of-way (where permits are required) and private property. Seasonal Parking permits are available at Town Hall (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
