A Sendoff That Says Hello
By Cori Burcham
A wedding exit isn’t the moment when newlyweds say a tearful farewell to their family and friends, but rather a celebratory hello to the next chapter of their life together. Not only is a send-off an opportunity for a breathtaking photo, but it’s also the last impression of the wedding that guests will take home with them—like sentimental party favors.
To help couples draw their festivities to a memorable close, Delaware Seaside Bride spoke with Melissa Forlenza, the owner and wedding coordinator at Belle of the Ball Weddings & Events, based in Maryland, about the send-offs trending in the Delmarva region.
While Melissa has noticed a predilection towards ceremony send-offs, she also intimates that couples can choose to feature both, suggesting items best appreciated in the sunlight for the recessional and items that illuminate for after the reception.
Editor’s Note: Sparklers and ground-based fireworks items may ONLY be used in Delaware on July 4th, December 31st and January 1st.
Remember to check your venue’s regulations before committing to a wedding exit. To begin coordinating your wedding, contact Melissa at (516) 455-3222 or visit belleoftheballweddings.com.
