"My husband, Jeff, and I wanted a colorful beach celebration full of our favorite people. We were officially married on a boat in the Caribbean (the initial wedding plan was postponed due to COVID-19), but we still wanted to have a celebration and so we brought tropical touches to the big wedding too. We asked that our guests wear bold bright colors and tropical prints—and they did not disappoint. We also recommended that folks go barefoot to fully embrace the beach vibes.
One special touch at the wedding was a giant tiki bar with cheesy signs that my dad built, and we served Pain Killers with nutmeg as our signature drink. Additionally, my dress is one of my favorite things in the world—I am a wedding photographer and photographed a wedding at IRLSS in 2018 for local artist Jane Merkel. That was my introduction to IRLSS and Jane’s work; I fell in love with both. I knew a white dress wasn’t my vibe, so I commissioned Jane to paint my dress in vibrant colors! I’m obsessed and wish I could wear it every day!"
